# KYC

Who can use BRD, and how verification works.

Every participant is identity-verified before transacting — automatically through **Sumsub** for individuals, and by review for organizations. Screening continues after onboarding.

## Who can participate

**Individuals** may sign up directly at [brd.digital](https://brd.digital/login). There is no invitation, minimum balance, or accreditation requirement. Eligibility turns on sanctions screening and country of residence, not on investor classification.

**Organizations** onboard through KYB — corporate registration, beneficial ownership down to natural persons, and authorized-signatory identification. This path supports higher limits, multiple users, and corporate account structures.

## Limits follow verification

<table><thead><tr><th width="150">Path</th><th>Verification</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Basic</td><td>Identity document and liveness check</td></tr><tr><td>Full</td><td>Adds proof of address and source of funds</td></tr><tr><td>Institutional</td><td>KYB review</td></tr></tbody></table>

Your limit is shown in the dashboard. The walkthrough is at Identity Verification.

## Jurisdictions

BRD is available in most countries. Restricted:

* OFAC-sanctioned countries — Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea
* Jurisdictions on the FATF grey and black lists
* Countries where digital-asset services are prohibited by local law

Availability is also subject to local regulatory requirements, which may restrict specific products even where accounts are permitted.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Screening is continuous. A sanctions listing that takes effect after you onboard affects an existing account.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://brd-digital.gitbook.io/brd-digital-docs/compliance/kyc.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
