# FAQ

Backing, access, verification, yield and redemption, in one place.

## What backs BRD tokens?

BRD is backed 1:1 by Brazilian Treasury LFTs, held in a segregated account. Reserves are never lent or rehypothecated. See Proof of Reserves.

## How are reserves verified?

Total supply is publicly readable on-chain, and the reserve position backing it is published at [brd.digital/proof-of-reserves](https://brd.digital/proof-of-reserves), so you can check one against the other without taking either on trust.

## Who can access BRD?

Anyone who passes identity verification and is not resident in a restricted jurisdiction. Sign-up is open at [brd.digital](https://brd.digital/login), with no invitation or accreditation required, and how much you can transact follows how far you verify. Organizations onboard through KYB for higher limits and multiple users. See KYC.

## Does holding BRD earn yield?

**On Solana, yes.** A verified holder's BRD balance accrues automatically, with no deposit, no staking transaction and no separate token. The balance grows in place.

**On Ethereum and Base, you deposit.** Yield there comes from an ERC-4626 vault: deposit BRD and receive sBRD, vault shares that appreciate as yield accrues.

Either way the yield tracks the Brazilian policy rate, floats with it, and is never guaranteed. See sBRD.

## How fast are minting and redemption?

Minting processes on **cleared funds**. PIX settles in seconds, 24/7. Stablecoin deposits settle on network finality. Redemptions are processed per cutoffs and operational timelines, **within T+1** to your verified bank account.

## Which networks are supported?

BRD is live on Solana, Ethereum and Base. Contract addresses are listed on [Stablecoin](/brd-digital-docs/stablecoin.md) and sBRD. Deposit and withdrawal details should only ever be taken from the dashboard, never from an email.

## Is BRD insured?

No. BRD tokens are not insured by any government agency. See Risk Disclosures.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://brd-digital.gitbook.io/brd-digital-docs/resources/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
